Biography
Avery Kimrey was one of the Burlington, North Carolina textile strikers framed in the 1934–35 "dynamite plot" case, sentenced to two years. After the September 1934 general textile strike, a dynamite charge at the E. M. Holt Plaid Mill in Burlington, North Carolina was used to frame union leaders of the Piedmont Textile Council; convicted in 1935 on the word of a paid informer, they drew sentences totalling twenty-seven years. The ILD carried the appeal.
