Biography
Annie Mae Leathers was a white Southern textile striker indicted for insurrection, charged under Georgia's insurrection law in 1934 — the same statute used against Angelo Herndon. In 1934 the state of Georgia used the same 1861 insurrection statute wielded against Angelo Herndon to indict organizers and textile strikers for "circulating insurrectionary literature" and advocating Black–white labor unity, holding several without bond in the DeKalb County jail.
