Biography

Andrew Remes was one of the eight defendants indicted in the 1957 Cleveland Taft-Hartley 'conspiracy' case, a prosecution the labor movement attacked as an attempt to revive Taft-Hartley affidavit charges that the courts had been throwing out. He was also among the Earl Browder campaign party jailed on a vagrancy charge at Terre Haute, Indiana on September 30, 1936 and released the next day with the charges dropped.
