Biography
New Afrikan Black Liberation Army prisoner of war, born in New York City. A Black Panther Party member, he was convicted along with Anthony 'Jalil' Bottom and Herman Bell in the 1971 killings of two NYPD officers (the BLA case that ran parallel to the Dhoruba bin Wahad case). The prosecutor admitted he could not say what role Washington played but asked the jury to convict him on his beliefs. He served nearly 30 years, much of it in solitary, before dying of liver cancer in custody on April 28, 2000.
