CLDC secures win in activist subpoena fight against ICE
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Civil Liberties Defense Center recently filed suit to quash an ICE administrative subpoena, another attempt by the rogue agency to expand its power. ICE subpoenaed Meta, seeking records related to activist Facebook and Instagram accounts. Late in the day on October 1, the U.S. District Court for Northern California issued a stay barring Meta from disclosing the requested activist data to ICE, until a full hearing on constitutional and other legal issues can be heard by the Court. This victory demonstrates that the legal fight against the erosion of our civil liberties is still alive and kicking, and CLDC is on the frontline of the struggle.
