Daniel Hale is the U.S. Air Force intelligence analyst (and later National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency contractor) who in 2014 leaked the classified documents that became "The Drone Papers" — published by The Intercept and the most authoritative public source on U.S. drone-targeting protocols and the civilian-casualty figures the government had suppressed.

He pled guilty in 2021 to one count under the Espionage Act of 1917 and was sentenced to 45 months in federal prison. He was released to a Tennessee halfway house in July 2024.

We ask the President for a full presidential pardon clearing his federal conviction, so that Daniel — like Daniel Ellsberg, like W. Mark Felt, like every whistleblower the country has eventually come to thank — can live and work without that record.
